Rice cooked in milk, flavored with saffron and cardamom |

Ingredients |
4 cups whole milk
- ½ cup rice (washed and soaked in a cup of water)
- 2 cup sugar
- 3–5 saffron strands
- 1 tsp small cardamom powder
- 8–10 almonds (soaked, peeled and thin-sliced)

Method |
- Bring the milk to a boil. Add the rice, sugar, saffron, and cardamom.
- Pressure-cook for 3 whistles and turn off heat, letting the mixture remain in the cooker.
- After about 20 minutes, open carefully and taste. Add more sugar if desired.
- If the milk has not yet thickened, continue boiling until it does so. Cool and decorate with the almonds.
- Serve chilled.
