Gram flour sweets
  • ½ cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2 cups gram flour (channa)
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds (til)
  • 8–10 almonds (chopped)
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • Heat the clarified butter in a nonstick kadai (cooking wok). Add the gram flour and stir continuously on low to moderate heat for 10–15 minutes, or until the mixture gives off an aroma of the cooked gram flour and the color changes to slight brown.
  • Add the sesame seeds and almonds. Allow to cool.
  • Add the sugar to the cooled gram flour and mix well.
  • Using the palms of your hands, form 15–20 medium-sized balls.
  • Enjoy with meals or later as a desert. (If you store them, use an airtight container.)
